Filming for the long awaited season 2 of The Walking Dead on AMC has begun in Cobb County, Georgia. Police warned locals that some roads may be closed during scheduled filming days, and some people may hear simulated gunfire and other sound effects.

The zombie drama is based on Robert Kirkman's popular comic book of the same name. Last year the television show debuted with much fanfare, and even some television award nominations, despite only having 6 episodes to the season. The show returns in 2011 with a full season of episodes, scheduled to start with a 90-minute episode on Halloween Night, Oct 31st at 10PM EST.
