 Brad Pitt in World War Z After many script changes, cast changes, re-shoots, and release delays, and a Spring full of teasers and hype, World War Z finally reached theaters this July. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Max Brooks has been highly anticipated especially with the current popularity of zombies.
The movie, starring Brad Pitt, disappointed some fans and some critics, but seems to be making the Hollywood execs happy as it opened with $45.8 million in tickets sales in the U.S. during the opening weekend. And over $100 million internationally. The movie is also surprisingly Pitt's biggest box office opening in his career.
 The much anticipated movie 'World War Z' is scheduled for release to theaters on June 20, 2013. Starring Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, David Morse, and Matthew Fox, the movie is based on the acclaimed novel of the same title by Max Brooks.
The zombie movie went through several directors, re-writes, and reshoots, but is apparently ready to be a summer block buster. The first trailer is available below.
 We thought 'World War Z' was wrapped and ready for release to the big screen late this year or early next year. So did star Brad Pitt. But not so fast. Paramount has decided to re-write the third act and the ending of the film. This means they'll have to gather cast members, sets, and locations again.
They also hired a new writer to make the story changes. Damon Lindelof, the screenwriter for the new movie 'Prometheus', will be penning a new third act and ending to the flick. No word yet whether original director Marc Foster will be the one in charge of implementing the new script or how close it will resemble the original book by Max Brooks. Shooting is expected to take place this fall if all those who need to be involved are available. Which means the movie release is likely to be put off until next summer or fall. With all the 'zombies' in the news lately, they might have been better served releasing it sooner rather than later.

 'Silent Night Of The Living Dead' is a horror-comedy zombie movie by Paul Davis and James Moran. The story is about a father and son from the United States, living in the United Kingdom, trying to survive a zombie apocalypse while barricaded in a high school on Christmas Eve.
Davis, a documentary maker, will be making his feature file directorial debut with this movie. Moran, writer of 'Severance', penned the screenplay which is expected to hit theaters in time for the holidays in 2013. The two men hope that the story, along with special effects, will bring back the horror of the classic Romero film, 'Night of the Living Dead'.
 Fans of the movie 'Zombieland' have been hoping for a sequel to the zombie-genre comedy hit from 2009. But signs have pointed to 'no' until now. But before you get excited, here is the catch. Sony Pictures Television has a 'Zombieland' half-hour television in the works. It will be based on the same premise as the movie and original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are said to be involved.
However, the fact that it will be a television special, or possible pilot, it is unlikely that any of the actors from the original movie will be involved. No word on whether the same characters will return with new actors, or if a whole new story will be presented. With the success of 'The Walking Dead' on AMC, it easy to understand why they might try to make a zombie-comedy series. But a big screen sequel would have really been great.
 'Warm Bodies' is a new zombie-genre movie coming to theaters in 2012. It is based on the novel by Issac Marion. It is a zombie romance featuring a zombie, who isn't quite fully zombie-fied, who falls in love with an uninfected woman. He saves her from the other zombies, and refuses to eat other humans as he tries to win her over. He goes to great lengths to try and disguise himself as uninfected in order to be with her, while fighting other zombies and 'boneys', the undead enemies of all zombies.
It's a doomed love-affair, like most other classic romances. If done right, it could become the Twilight of zombie movies. The flick is being directed by Jonathan Levine and will feature actors Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Rob Corddry, John Malkovich, Analeigh Tipton, Dave Franco, and Cory Hardrict.
 Another director walks away from the 'Pride And Prejudice And Zombies' movie. Craig Gillespie, the third director attached to the movie based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, has reportedly stepped down. The adaptation has had a lot of problems, not only naming a director, but also in finding an actress for the starring role.
Directors David O. Russell and Mike White have already come and gone. And actresses Natalie Portman, Elizabeth Bennett, Mia Wasikowska, Emma Stone, Scarlett Johansson, and Blake Lively have also been approached and rejected the movie. It is beginning to look as though this movie will never be made. Lionsgate, the production company behind the movie, says it will continue to look for a director and cast to make the movie in 2012 for a 2013 release. The current popularity of zombies, will probably keep this movie a possibility for now.
 16 Actors dressed as zombies were injured during filming of the movie Resident Evil: Retribution. A platform collapsed on the set in Toronto, Canada causing some of the victims to fall as much as 20 feet. Some suffered back and leg injuries, but none of the injuries were life threatening.
However, due to the zombie make-up worn by the actors, emergency workers had a difficult time assessing the severity of some of the injuries. Resident Evil: Retribution is the fifth installment of the video game based, zombie-genre movie starring Milla Jovovich. She was not injured during the incident.
 The unexpected visit by a SWAT on the set of the movie 'World War Z' was not part of the script. The currently filming movie about zombies, starring Brad Pitt, was filming today in Budapest when a team of SWAT officers raided a nearby warehouse containing props for the movie.
The officers confiscated a cache of guns that were to be used in scenes in the flick. But apparently they were brought into the country without permission. On top of that, many of the real guns, which were supposed to be non-functioning, were not equipped properly and may have been able to shoot live ammunition if any were loaded or forgotten in the weapons. In total, 85 guns were taken. No word on when or if they will be returned, and if it will effect the scheduled movie shoot.
